The College has submitted evidence to the Scottish Government’s Scotland Future Medical Workforce Project, outlining both the challenges and opportunities facing pathology in delivering community-focused, patient-centred care.
The letter emphasises that a well-resourced workforce will be critical to delivering the government’s 10-Year Health Plan published in July, which focuses on shifting care from hospital to community, analogue to digital, and sickness to prevention.
The Royal College of Pathologists welcomes the British Society of Haematology’s (BSH) publication of The Haematology Workforce, a comprehensive view, which recognises the vital role of clinical-pathology and laboratory work in the rapid diagnosis and clinical management of haematological diseases.
