Dr Bipin Mathew studied medicine at University in India, before undertaking his pathology training. He moved to the UK in 2004 and completed his histopathology specialty training in Yorkshire. During his first consultant post in Hull, he helped develop local training of extended practitioners, at a time when this was a very new role. His passion for education continued as he became a Training Programme Director in the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery. More recently, his leadership and management roles have extended into molecular pathology and he is Core Lead for the Genomics Laboratory Hub for the North East and Yorkshire.
