Pathology Portal – looking forward to 2026

The Pathology Portal will continue to develop with more content.

The Pathology Portal had a successful 2025 and is looking forward to continued growth in 2026. The platform continues to provide free educational resources to support pathology training and the ongoing professional development of pathologists at all career stages, as well as scientists and those in pathology-related roles.

By the end of 2025, the Pathology Portal had surpassed 7,000 resources, spanning cases, videos, podcasts and quizzes for self-assessment. With over 6,500 active users benefiting from these free resources, we invite you to join our growing community, if you haven’t already done so. For details on how to access the Pathology Portal, please find more information at Pathology Portal.

The resources have been accessed over 400,000 times. Once again, we have seen record activity around examination periods and during the running of external quality assessments (EQAs). The Portal now supports several EQA schemes, so if you are looking for support in hosting, the team will be happy to help. The Pathology Portal also hosted a series of drop-in sessions to support the community with using the platform.

We were excited to welcome new trainee contributors onto the Portal following attendance at the New Trainee Welcome Days; we are always looking for new volunteers who may wish to get involved in supporting their specialty. For questions, suggestions or content contributions, please contact our team at pathologyportal@rcpath.org. We appreciate your ongoing engagement and contributions to the Pathology Portal.
