Fellows

What is College fellowship and who is eligible?

Fellowship status recognises your professional achievements, expertise and competence within the field of pathology.

Fellowship can be obtained through:

  • examination (FRCPath Part 1 and Part 2)
  • published works
  • fellows by election* (for accomplished medical practitioners or scientists):
    • admission to fellowship under this route cannot be used as an alternative to fellowship by examination or published works for whom one of these would be appropriate
  • honorary fellowship*
    • this may be granted by the College to those who have made notable contributions to pathology, and other persons who have shown distinction of a nature fit to be recognised by the College.

*Please note that individuals cannot apply for honorary fellowship or fellow by election; they must be invited by the College.

As a fellow of the College, I deeply value the sense of community and professional belonging that the College adopts. One of the most enjoyable aspects of being a member is the opportunity to engage with a diverse network of professionals who are equally passionate about advancing the field of pathology.
