The Veterinary Pathology SAC has compiled a list of funding opportunities designed to support travel and research for academics, practitioners and trainees in the specialty.
British Society of Toxicological Pathology travel bursaries
Available annually.
The British Society of Toxicological Pathology provide travel bursaries to attend the BSTP continuing education symposiums and other meetings organised by the BSTP, which are available annually.

JCP Educational Trust junior travel bursaries
Available biannually.
The trust has an active programme of awarding travel bursaries to enable junior scientists working in the broad field of animal pathology (e.g. undertaking either a pathology residency or PhD programme) to attend and present their work at an approved conference (bursary value £500) or to make a short visit to another institution to learn a particular skill or undertake a specific research study (bursary value up to £3,000).

Pet Savers research grants
Available annually.
These grants are available to qualified veterinary surgeons to enable them to undertake small-scale clinical research in small animals kept as pets, with the ultimate objective to advance understanding of the causes and/or management of a clinical disorder. At least one applicant on each proposal must be a qualified veterinary surgeon. Applications from practitioners, academics as well as joint applications between veterinary surgeons in practice and academia are all welcome. Funding of between £1,000 and £8,000 is available. These funds can be used to pay for research expenses and consumables but not for the researcher’s time.

British Society of Veterinary Pathology widening access bursary
Available biannually.
The British Society of Veterinary Pathology is committed to supporting individuals from backgrounds traditionally under-represented in veterinary science. The British Society of Veterinary Pathology offers a bursary to attend their annual summer and autumn meetings. This bursary is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in veterinary science, or veterinarians with an interest in veterinary pathology. The bursary covers conference attendance and travel costs (up to £200).
